SMISOL® Clim Platinum, the pre-insulated copper pipe for air conditioning

SMISOL® Clim Platinum is the evolution of pre-insulated copper tubes dedicated to the conditioning and refrigeration. Manufactured by SCTubes according to EN 12735-1, this product is specific for the transport of refrigerant gas (R32, R410A, R407C, …).

The new external film

SMISOL® Clim Platinum is covered today of a new garment, or to an external PE film containing a special pigment in the “silver-gray”, able to absorb UV radiation and prevent the aging of underlying mat PE foam with closed cells .

This problem is particularly felt in the case of laying outside buildings. Solar radiation naturally emits ultraviolet rays which strike the pipes on the outside, causing the aging of traditional insulation PE closed cell foam. The SMISOL® Clim Platinum anti-UV barrier prevents this phenomenon over time, thus ensuring the maintenance of the insulating characteristics.

Main benefits

Long life. Accelerated aging tests lasting 4,000 hours of exposure to artificial light (such as to simulate the action of sunlight), demonstrate superior resistance to 3 years of continuous radiation in northern Italy or more than 2 years in southern Italy. Note that at the end of the test the samples used were presented still perfectly intact.

Halogen free. The need of flame retardant added in the rubber composition of the sheath does not contain halogen elements (chromium, bromine). This allows a considerable improvement not only in terms of resistance to UV rays, but also in ecological terms, in line with the requirements of a market increasingly attentive to environmental issues.

Eccentricity extremely limited. SMISOL® Clim Platinum is characterized by particularly low eccentricity; this condition is essential in this type of application, where they are provided for operations of the flare and where are provided for thicknesses less than a millimeter (standard EN 12735-1).

Vapor barrier. The mean value of the μ factor of resistance to water vapor is particularly high, amounting to 10,000. This ensures excellent anti-barrier.
