The production process ensures absolute adherence of the insulating sheath to the outside of the copper tube wall, so as to avoid the formation of gaps that would degrade insulating the thermal insulation performance.
Main features
This copper tube is manufactured according to EN 12735-1 (and ASTM B 68/M), and is pre-insulated with polyethylene foam characterised by a closed cell structure with regular and evenly distributed cell size (EN ISO 1578).
It is distributed in coils, with the tube diameter specified in millimetres. The insulating sheath is manufactured in full compliance with European Regulation EEC/EU 2037/2000 that enforces the use of insulating expanded foam sheaths devoid of CFCs and HCFCs which are harmful to health and the environment. The thickness of the sheath is designed to satisfy the various requirements of this application area.
Given the particular application field, special attention is reserved for the external protective polyethylene film deigned to prevent the formation of condensation on the outer wall of the product.
Sheat characteristics
- Thermal conductivity: ≤0,038 W/m°K at 40°C.
- Average value of the water vapour diffusion resistance factor “μ” above 15000 (EN 13469).
- Average sheath density: 30 kg/m³.

The insulating sheath is manufactured under full compliance to European Regulation EEC/EU 2037/2000 which enforces the use of expanded foam insulation sheaths devoid of CFCs and HCFCs which are harmful to health and the environment and have class BL-s1-d0 compliant pursuant to EN 13501-1
Scope of supply
Seamless, drawn copper tube, produced in accordance with EN 12735-1, R220 annealed physical status, phosphorised Cu DHP (Cu + Ag : 99.90% min. – P: 0.015÷0.040%) according to EN 1412, cleaning treatment of the internal surface of the tube in line with with EN 12735-1 and ASTM B280 with internal residue of less than 0.38 mg/dm2, shiny aspect of internal surface, indelible labelling every 60 cm with punching of the external surface of the copper tube, covered at the production stage with a PE-LD closed cell expansion insulation, grey RAL 7040 colour, average value of the water vapour diffusion resistance factor “μ” above 15000, ink labelling on the external surface of the insulation with progressive indication of the measurement in metres with SMISOL® Frio label, resistance to fire is class BL-s1-d0 compliant pursuant to EN 13501-1, capped at the ends.
