Advantages of the product

fire

Non-flammable sheat
Class BL-s1-d0 compliant

sun

Suitable for areas with high annual solar radiation. At the end of the exposure test, the sample did not show any signs of degradation

rivestimento

Polyethylene closed cell expanded foam with average water vapour diffusion resistance factor “μ” above 15000. The insulating sheath is manufactured under full compliance to European Regulation EEC/EU 2037/2000

clean

The inner surface of the copper tube is bright, clean and dry, essential characteristics of this product category normally available on the market for industrial use.

center

Extremely low eccentricity values, a very important feature for jointing operations.

rivestimento

The production process ensures absolute adherence of the insulating sheath to the outside of the copper tube wall, so as to avoid the formation of gaps that would degrade insulating the thermal insulation performance.

Main features

The insulated tube connection system allows for simple, tool-free interconnection, enabling fast and efficient installation. SMISOL® Clim Duo tubes represent an innovative solution in the field of ACR connections, combining efficiency, safety and ease of use on site. The original in-line coating process provides superior malleability compared to similar products available on the market, positioning SMISOL® Clim Duo at the top of its category. This specific characteristic is preserved by maintaining a larger coil radius, preventing any alteration of the product’s malleability. This copper tube stands out for its closed-cell expanded polyethylene insulating coating, featuring regular and uniformly distributed cells in compliance with EN 15758:2016. Designed to ensure optimal performance, the insulating sheath is manufactured in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 1005/2009, which requires the use of expanded insulation materials free from CFCs and HCFCs—chemical substances recognised as harmful to human health and the environment. The insulation thickness is carefully dimensioned to meet the different requirements of HVAC systems, while ensuring high safety standards and excellent performance.

Sheat characteristics

  • Thermal conductivity: λ ≤ 0.038 W/m·°C at 40°C
  • Average water vapour diffusion resistance factor “μ”: > 15,000
  • Fire behaviour: BL-s1-d0 (EN 13501-1)
  • Average insulation density: 30 kg/m³
  • Free from ammoniacal residues
  • Excellent resistance to external chemical agents
  • CFC- and HCFC-free, in accordance with Regulation (EU)
  • No 1005/2009 Halogen-free flame retardant

Scope of supply

Seamless drawn copper tubes, manufactured in accordance with EN 12735-1, physical condition annealed R220, phosphorus-deoxidised copper Cu DHP (Cu + Ag: min. 99.90% – P: 0.015–0.040%) in accordance with EN 1412. The internal surface of the tubes is cleaned in compliance with EN 12735-1 and ASTM B280, with soluble residue below 0.38 mg/dm², ensuring a bright internal surface finish. Permanent marking is applied every 60 cm by embossing on the external surface of the copper tubes. During production, the tubes are coated with a closed-cell expanded PE-LD insulation, featuring thermal conductivity λ ≤ 0.038 W/mK, and protected by a white corrugated PE outer film. The water vapour diffusion resistance factor “μ” exceeds 15,000. Ink marking on the outer surface of the insulation indicates progressive metre numbering and the SMISOL® Clim Duo brand. Fire reaction classification BL-s1-d0 in accordance with EN 13501-1. Tube ends are capped.
