About Us

THE COMPANY
Serravalle Copper Tubes is part of the KME Group, a global leader in the production of copper and copper alloy semi-finished products. It shares its goals, synergies, and know-how, as well as a customer-oriented and market-focused approach.
The Group employs over 3,000 people and achieves a total sales volume of 190,000 tonnes. SCTubes can rely on dedicated foundries and benefit from the synergies, specializations, and expertise of the various production units.
The plant
The Serravalle Scrivia (AL) plant is among the most important and advanced in Europe in the production of copper tubes for plumbing, heating, and industrial uses, boasting a fully integrated production cycle that also includes the insulating sheaths for coated tubes.

Copper tube production
Tube production starts from the copper billet through to the finished, custom-sized cold-drawn copper tube, ready—where necessary—to be coupled with the cladding. At full capacity, the plant achieves a production rate of 400 kilometres per day. Extrusion takes place under immersion to avoid oxidation; drawing is carried out with the pilgrim step, ensuring an extremely low eccentricity value

The coating
An entire department is dedicated to producing the extruded coating to size for each tube diameter, which is coupled to the copper tube and onto which the external co-extruded sheath is applied.

The covered warehouse
We have over 15,000 square meters of covered warehouse space, divided between coil storage and bar storage, to always be ready to handle demand peaks and meet even the most urgent customer needs.

The photovoltaic system
Since the 1990s—long before the green economy became a widely discussed topic—the Serravalle Scrivia production site has over 70,000 square metres of photovoltaic panels, with an output of 5 GWh per year and savings of over 2,600 tonnes of CO2
