Controlled internal cleaning for high reliability systems

The inner surface of MediClim® is shiny, clean and dry, with soluble residue < 0.38 mg/dm² (EN 12735-1) and lubricant residue < 0.20 mg/dm² (EN 13348). Each pipe is sealed with caps at the production stage to preserve its quality until installation.

Interior surface

Designed for air conditioning and specialized applications

MediClim® is the high internal cleanliness copper tube designed for refrigeration, air conditioning, vacuum and technical gas systems. Manufactured according to EN 12735-1 and EN 13348, it provides excellent workability and pressure resistance, meeting the needs of highly specialized industries.

Conditioning

The reliable choice for medical gases

MediClim® complies with EN 13348 and is designed for safe distribution of medical gases and vacuum systems, up to 2,000 kPa. Its chemical, mechanical and dimensional characteristics meet extremely restrictive standards, ensuring purity and reliability in hospital settings. Joints by brazing or strong soldering as required by EN ISO 7396-1.

Medical gas transportation

Clean and free of oxidation

Submerged extrusion ensures an oxidation-free tube. The surface is perfectly clean and dry, and the special lamellar caps preserve these characteristics.

Key Features

SCT offers a full range of copper pipes for both the plumbing and industrial sectors. SCT pipes are manufactured to the highest quality standards, in full compliance with customer standards and specifications. In order to clearly distinguish the technical applications for which certain products are specifically intended, the MediClim® brand was specially introduced, representing a response to the demands of two extremely specialized sectors such as refrigeration and air conditioning and medical. MediClim® copper tubes have a high degree of internal cleanliness and are specially designed for conveying industrial gases, refrigerants and for vacuum distribution. They can be used in high-pressure systems and have excellent workability characteristics. By means of special patented production processes, the internal cleanliness of the tubing is ensured to meet the special requirements of the various fields of application for which the products are intended. MediClim® is manufactured according to EN 12735-1 and EN 13348.

Specifications

MediClim® is produced in 5-m rods (hard physical state R290) and 25-m rolls (annealed physical state R220); it has both ends capped in order to ensure that internal cleanliness is maintained, and each pipe (whether rod or roll) is identified by a specific numbering that identifies the production batch and ensures traceability. The use of MediClim® tubes requires careful evaluation of the intended use, as well as the environmental and functional conditions in which the product will be installed. This assessment must be made at the design stage and by competent personnel: the proper use and operation of piping requires installation in full compliance with current regulations and according to the good rule of art. All MediClim® rod pipes feature appropriately designed packaging for each size. The production of MediClim® is carried out following the rules defined by an ISO 9001:2000 and ISO/TS 16949:2002 approved Quality Management System, in line with the European PED Directive 2014/68/EU.

Medical applications

In accordance with EN 13348, MediClim® is the specific solution for the transport of medical gases in hospital and healthcare settings, where extremely high levels of quality, safety and reliability are required. Medical gases have a direct impact on human health and must maintain their purity throughout the distribution system. MediClim® is suitable for transporting: oxygen, nitrous oxide, nitrogen, helium, carbon dioxide, xenon, medical air, air for surgical instruments, anesthetic gases and vapors, under pressure up to 2,000 kPa, and vacuum systems. For medical gas systems, the intended method of joining is strong brazing or welding, as indicated by EN ISO 7396-1. Joining methods must ensure that mechanical properties are maintained up to an ambient temperature of 600 °C. During brazing or welding operations, the inside of pipes should be purged with inert gas (e.g., nitrogen). The filler materials must not contain more than 0.025% cadmium.

ACR Applications

In accordance with EN 12735-1, MediClim® is fully suitable for industrial and laboratory air conditioning and refrigeration systems designed to transport refrigerant gases such as R410A, R407C, R32, R290 and copper compatible fluids. The product is particularly suitable for large-scale systems due to its high mechanical properties and the quality of the inner surface, which is shiny, clean and dry. The production process ensures: Soluble residues on the inner surface < 0.38 mg/dm² (EN 12735-1), Lubricant residues < 0.20 mg/dm² (EN 13348). Internal cleanliness is further preserved by capping the ends of each tube directly during manufacture.

Specifications
